金柑画廊では、2月14日（土）より3月8日（日）まで、水田茂夫「止まっているエスカレーター」を開催いたします。水田茂夫は、日常の中でふと生じる認識や感覚のズレをテーマに、平面や立体、インスタレーションなど、多様な表現を用いた作品を制作しています。

日々の暮らしの中で、私たちはときに思いがけない出来事に不意を突かれ、予期していなかった感覚や感情、記憶がこじ開けられてしまうことがあります。彼の作品を眺めていると、私自身もそうした体験を思い出します。彼の捉える「ズレ」とは、そんな感覚を提示しようとしているのかもしれない、と想像してしまいます。

Kinkan Gallery is pleased to present “The Stopped Escalator” by Shigeo Mizuta, on view from February 14 through March 8.
Shigeo Mizuta creates works in a wide range of forms—including two-dimensional works, sculptures, and installations—focusing on subtle shifts in perception and sensation that arise unexpectedly in everyday life. In our daily lives, we are sometimes caught off guard by unforeseen events, through which unanticipated sensations, emotions, or memories are suddenly revealed.
When I look at Mizuta’s works, memories of these unexpected experiences come back to me. I imagine that the “shifts” he perceives may be his way of presenting these sensations. We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition.
